Local Salmon Arm artist Teyjah Mc Aren, who has been trained by Golden Artist Colors, has now opened up a brand new gallery and art studio where acrylic workshops will be taught. These workshops will provide you with valuable information about acrylic painting materials and techniques which will enhance your painting efforts. GOLDEN SUPPLIES ALL THE PAINTS, GELS AND MEDIUMS. Just bring your brushes, palette knife, palette paper, 8 - 6" x 8" pieces of Crescent Mat board(white), rags or paper towels, large water containers, simple pictures, apron, lunch, and a sense of exploration and fun! You will also leave with an information packet and kit of products worth $35.00 U.S. on top of the material you get to use in class. All classes are one day and run 6 hours unless otherwise indicated.
Lower Mainland or more than 3 hours driving time cost is: $75.00 per person/per day and a minimum of 10 registrants, maximum 15. Ferries are extra cost.

ACRYLIC ESSENTIALS WORKSHOP
Be prepared to learn and have fun! This intensive workshop covers the basics; understanding mineral and modern pigments for clean color mixing, the use of gels to create textures and extend paints (saving you $$). Explore glazing options with Fluids and Heavy Body Paint. Apply grounds to create unusual surfaces. Discover how to work with delicate, transparent washes and thick impasto application. A boundless journey! Best suited for Beginners & Intermediates but open to all levels of experience.
ACRYLIC WATERMEDIA TECHNIQUES ON UNUSUAL SURFACES
Many of the traditional watercolor competitions are now open to the new "Watermedia" If you are ready and willing to try something new and loosen up, then take the next step into the wild, wonderful world of acrylics. Using Golden's Fluid Acrylics, explore color mixing, incorporating and experimenting with some of the fluid irridescents, interference and metallic pigments. Prepare unique acrylic grounds which will render beautiful and unusual effects. Using Golden Fluid Acrylics applied over a variety of gorgeous grounds we'll create small paintings that will result in unusual yet beautiful surfaces and effects. Best suited for Intermediates & Advanced but open to all levels of experience.
WATERCOLOR PAINTING - ACRYLIC STYLE
Want to learn how to work in a watercolor fashion but use Fluid Acrylics? Then this is the class for you! This one day workshop will teach you how to recreate effects you can do in watercolor only you will be using Fluid Acrylics. Learn how to to do washes, glazes, gradations, color charts, correct mistakes, etc... There are many advantages to working with acrylics. Acrylics dry faster, once the paint has dried it is insoluble, if you have lost your whites you can put them back in, etc... Bring one or two landscape, flower, or abstract pictures pre-drawn on watercolor paper or illustration board and let' kick it up a notch!!! You will leave with an information packet and a whole new set of acrylic products worth $40.00 U.S.
MIXED UP MIXED MEDIA TECHNIQUES
Be prepared to have fun! In this class we'll be creating unusual surfaces to work on and introducing grounds you may have never heard of. We will experiment not only with acrylic paints and gels, but pastels, oil pastels and colored pencils. A variety of textures and surfaces await your personal touch as we play with mixing the materials together. You supply the image (simple is better), and we supply all the paints, gels and grounds for the small paintings you will create. Learn how to do gel transfers on different grounds and incorporate them into collages. If you do watercolors, pastels, graphite, charcoal, oil pastels, or paint, you can learn something new in this experimental class. Incorporate the kitchen sink and mix it all up for infinite possibilities, and voila...! All levels.
UNUSUAL ACRYLIC EFFECTS USING GROUNDS AND GELS
Ready to explore? Tired of painting on the same old surfaces? Join in the fun and discover a variety of gels and grounds which will open up all sorts of possibilities for you with acrylic paints. After applying a variety of Golden gels and grounds (which we will use to create unusual and exciting surfaces and textures to work on), you will produce little paintings that will come alive with your own personal touch! We will mix and match and try all sorts of combinations of materials (from Irridescents and Interference to Acrylic Ground for Pastels) for delightful effects. Try out some of our newer products such as Glass Beads or Fiber Gels. Gobs of Golden Gels to experiment, experience and have an existential moment with! 4 to 5 DAY WORKSHOP. Best suited for Intermediates & Advanced but open to all levels of experience. Classes can be geared to explore particular grounds or gels. Shorter 2 day class can be arranged.
CLEAN COLOR MIXING WITH GOLDEN PAINTS

NEW CLASS!!! ENCAUSTIC TECHNIQUES USING ACRYLICS
Want to learn how to mimic encaustic wax without the toxicity factor? Encaustic is an ancient art form whereby many layers of wax are melted over top of a painting. This class will teach you how to mimic these hot wax pours. Along with learning to recreate wax, you will also learn how to create eep resin pours, a stained glass window look, holographic effects, even a mottled yet transparent look. Students will have the opportunity to explore various grounds, gels, mediums, textural effects, pattern and color. You are encouraged to bring non-traditional surfaces to experiment with such as small pieces of wood, metal, as well as 8 - 6" x 8" pieces of Crescent Mat Board(white). Come with an experimental attitude and expect to have fun! 2 DAY WORKSHOP

Welcome to my Lecture and Demonstration page. Apart from the Workshops I teach, it is also possible to have me visit your town to give you a bundle of information about acrylics in general and the Golden product line specifically. It is best to combine the Lecture-Demo with a Workshop whenever possible. However, the Lecture-Demos can be done as a free-standing 2-3 hour course. The participants will not be doing any painting during the Lecture-Demo.
